Lisa Wisse

Lisa Wisse is recognised for her unique depiction of the New Zealand landscape, with land and skies appearing within advancing and receding planes of colour.  Her work has been exhibited throughout New Zealand, Australia, Canada and the UK and is also in private collections in these locations including New York.  Lisa has explored the water cycle of our earth and man’s dependence upon its constant supply in a number of her works.  She expresses  “It is truly our elixir of life.”  Lisa‘s work is characteristic  for the vibrancy of her colour tones and her loose and comfortable culmination of landscape and verse  work which underlies it.  Largely an impressionistic painter who finds acrylics give her the flexibility to apply paint in layers to create contrasting areas of light and dark.  Reflecting her driving ethos “Art should feed the soul... a good painting should make you want to come back and look at it again and again.”
